An Advocate For Those Wrongfully Harmed
From the start of her career, she has worked for justice for those wrongfully
injured through the acts of others. While in law school, Ms. Barnes served
as managing editor for the University of Miami Business Law Review. She
was the Honors Recipient in the Litigation Skills Trial Program. Ms. Barnes
also worked as a Certified Legal Intern in the Economics Crimes Department
at the U.S. Attorneys’ Office, Southern District of Florida. During
her final year of school, she worked for a Miami firm specializing in
personal injury and wrongful death. Prior to joining the Firm, she worked
with a litigation consulting firm, providing assistance to attorneys in
the thematic development of case issues, voir dire, and jury selection.
Ms. Barnes is an active member of the Florida Justice Association (Eagle
member), previously serving on the Young Lawyers’ Board. She is
also a member of the American Bar Association, the Hillsborough County
Bar Association, the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, and the Hillsborough
Association for Women Lawyers. She has been selected to the Florida Super
Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2017-2020, an honor reserved for those
lawyers who exhibit excellence in practice. Only 2.5% of attorneys in
Florida receive this distinction.
Ms. Barnes has been recognized by Tampa Bay Magazine as one of the Top
Attorneys Rising Stars in Tampa Bay from 2017-2020.
Since joining the firm, Ms. Barnes has participated in several jury trials
and cases resulting in settlements in excess of a million dollars. In
2018, Ms. Barnes obtained one of Florida Top 20 Verdicts.
Ms. Barnes is married to Carson Barnes, and they have three sons, Wyatt,
Brooks, and Hale.
