Evan Gilliam

Evan Gilliam is an Associate Attorney of The Yerrid Law Firm and handles cases involving serious personal injury and wrongful death. Mr. Gilliam began working as a law clerk for The Yerrid Law Firm in his first year of law school.

Prior to law school, Mr. Gilliam attended the University of Cincinnati where he graduated cum laude while serving as a member of the University’s baseball team for four years. In 2019, Mr. Gilliam was a part of the first team in school history to clinch a bid to the NCAA Tournament since 1974.

Credentials

Following his time at Cincinnati, Mr. Gilliam received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, the top law school in America for trial advocacy. While attending law school, Mr. Gilliam received the Latham, Luna, Eden & Beaudine Book Award for the highest grade in Trial Advocacy, received the Victor O. Wehle Award for excellence in Trial Advocacy, served as a member of the school’s dispute resolution team where he competed across the country, and served as a Teacher’s Assistant for trial advocacy courses.

Just five months after admission into the Florida Bar, Mr. Gilliam was a part of The Yerrid Law Firm trial team that obtained a $30 million jury verdict in a complex medical malpractice case pertaining to sepsis.

Mr. Gilliam is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and an Eagle member of the Florida Justice Association.

In his free time, Evan enjoys golfing, traveling, supporting the Cincinnati Bengals, and spending time with family and friends. He recently got married to his wife Emily in October 2023.
